The Flight

The sea spread,
in all its vastness,
in front of my eyes;
Undeterred, I kept on flying,
For I thought,
you to be flying
right beneath me.
I kept flying and grew tired by night,
stopped flapping my wings
allowed myself to drop,
And I kept dropping
when suddenly I noticed the sea;
Violent and Angry,
in front of my eyes
and looked around for you;
And I found on the shore
singing to the melody of the morning,
Happy in the knowledge
that day was about to break.
Enjoying your song,
little do you notice,
while the day was breaking,
far across the sea, so was I.

The Communist Conspiracy

One just needs to look around and you will find many people capitalizing on the pretended concern of the downtrodden like Elseworth Toohey of Ayn Rand's Fountainhead. The concept is totally flawed, and when these people put masses together as one homogenous lot, they immediately by some divine design put themselves on the front of it. The idea of treating people as absolute equals is in contradiction of the scientific Darwin's theory of the survival of the fittest. This idea is based on total ignorance of the difference between one human being and other because once you acknowledge and appreciate the differences, you also need to accept that some of them will be equal or better than others in one respect or other. Once you acknowledge this, you have to admit that no one will have absolute right to rule on other, as the other is not a non-thinking, non-individual mob which ought to be rules by the manipulating individual who simply brand a group of people as downtrodden masses and with the claim of being a self appointed protector of the the masses, force themselves on the leadership position. And to think that all this is just happening out of innocent flow of current is a fallacy. The truth is that, it is all well thought out and well planned. Else why would you forcibly want to represent my case, thrust your leadership upon me and then get annoyed if this self-proclaimed is challenged in any way. This explanins the highest order of state terrorism seen in Russia and China, where the system itself is designed to propogate state terrorism. Unfortunate part is that when the same ideology descends in Nandigram, with all constitutional safeguards meant to protect individual freedom, Congress which rules in centre, together with a figurehead president, signs some sycillian Omerta, and enters into a eleven months long conspiracy of silence with their ruling partners. Why communist always succeeds at first, it breeds on the cowardice of individuals, because we do not want to fight our own fight, because we want someone else to pick up the cudgels on our behalf. Little do we realise that as we lose our right to fight to some one else, at the same time we lose the right to exist. We as a society realise the trap that we have landed into only when we have a Stalin who considers his Gestapo as a national necessity, a Mao, who considers Tanks at Tianman Square a social instrument, and a Karat who considers himself a trustee of people rights, and a CM who considers CPI-M cadres killing other countrymen worthy of national gallantry awards.

Nation as an Idea..

In the movie Gladiator, the Emperor of Rome puts a very straight-forward question to the main protagonist, What is Rome and eventually proceds to answer himself saying " Rome is an idea". I believe, that is a profound statement, which holds true not only for Rome as an Nation for all nations in the world. What else is a nation, a geographical formation, farms, forests, city and rivers? No, I do not think it is, and that is why it can not be defined in physical structures. If it were so, how come Rajputana or Maratha or Magadh, which were nation within there own rights, ruled by different sovereigns, run under different laws, till right upto Mughal empire and even later for some time off and on, are now a part of larger nation, which we call India. It is simply becuase an idea called india, expanded and found friendly vibes in heart of people populating hitherto disparate nations and grew to eventually, take all of it in its fold. It is an idea, thought out by leaders of the country (not talking of poloticians) long time back, cherished like their offsprings and nourished which ensured that we today stand up and take pride for everything from Gods Own Country, to Bangalore (nee Bagaluru, name given by politicians not leaders, who had important things to worry aboutn than the name of the city, politicians changed the thing needing least effort, changing standard of living wouldhave taken more effort and intelligence), to Financial power house of Mumbai, to the seventh wonder of Taj, as a nation of Billion plus people, instead of ending up as a incoherent set of around one hundred Nepals or Myanmars. The politicians, while reap benefit of the idea for which leaders paid with blood, scheme against the same idea, Dravid Vs. Aryan of Karunanidhi, Dhartiputra of Thackrey, Anti-Bihari of ULFA and so on, but they are first to stake claim of a cricket win. Announcing prizes, not from the party funds but from the Taxpayers money, and jostling for space on the stage set for the winners, forgetting that the players who gave them this opportunity came from the idea which keeps us together as a nation, why Uddhav Thackrey wants to share the benefit of win of a team led by Dhoni, people from whose state are so unwelcome to his party, or why DMK goes gaga on a win in which so many Aryans (if there is any such thing left at all, down the centuries) participated. And worse still, while I am tempted to condone the politicians, since acting otherwise would go against their basic nature, who as is said, when not kissing your babies, will be stealing their lollipops, what is pathetic, we as a nation, while go in the frenzy of T20 win, no doubt a matter of pride, forget to pause a moment to spare a thought to one of the prime thinker of the Idea which is India, it was Birth Centenary of Bhagat Singh, the same day, and not a word from media (albeit a small note on fourth or fifth page, where you can find it with difficulty) or even the Prime Minister, who was busy congratulating the Cricket team. Let us give a moment to the man who gave his life for the cause at the age, when the GenX at that age is busy figuring the ooomph value of the new cell phone. Let us not forget that those who forget the past are doomed to repeat it.

Hinduism as Way ot Life

Recently there was some issues raised by people on teaching yoga, calling it Anti-Christian, some issue raised with chanting Gayatri Matra in the US assembly. No questions raised, ever thought why. Kanwadias on the street, full page articles in the National Dailies (of course, written by Hindu writers), no questions. Why the same author has no courage to write on the public discomfort during Tazia processions? No discomfort there, such processions in later case is an example of secular India, a symbol of Ganga Jamuna culture. Secularism is treating all religions but for Majority religion as equal. Why nobody raises an issue, because Hinduism is not a political religion. It was not meant to bind people together, so that they can stay disciplined and united as a army, extending beyond geographical boundaries like Christian West or Islamic Middle East. Hinduism was not driven by an urge to expand and convert. It is fairly simple, someone steps in your garden, you tell him to enjoy the beauty, someone put one step in restricted army camp, or in the border protected by Army, you are bound to invite violence. Same is the reason, justifying why there is violence in heart of Delhi amidst all bandobast, when Police are trying to follow the law, remove encroachment and by mistake drops one holy book from a bookshop in process, at the same time, someone spending overtime life, calls Ram names and only protest seen is in some far off Ayodhya.
